Fun Chem S20 Stuff | |
This is an unofficial page on which I will put some
Chem S20 stuff from time to time. The official page can be found here.
Reminder!
Liz can be found protecting the universe from orgo crises in room SC 110
on Thursdays from 7-8 and on Sundays from 8-9. |
Week of 8/3:
- The following are some problems from previous classes I have
taught. They are synthesis problems of a type that you will be
probably not be asked on the final, but that you may find
interesting to work through. At the very least, working through the
solutions will be a good review of the reactions used. (Believe it or
not, you've learned them all!)
Having trouble spending your 56th consecutive day in
Cabot? Just
picture this... Curtain rises. August 14, 1998. Somewhere
in the Carribbean. EVANGELINE and EMILY are lying on a beach.
Evangeline: Hey Emily, remember that time we were taking orgo?
Emily (staring blankly): Orgo?
Evangeline: I
think it stands for "organic chemistry."
Emily (scratching
her head): Chem-is-try?
Evangeline: You know, with all
the little lines, letters and arrow thingies?
Emily: (with a
vague nod) Oh yeah... Orgo.
Evangeline: Yeah. That sucked,
huh?
Emily: It sure did. Hey, at least we all kicked ass on the
final and he decided to give us all A's...
Week of 6/29:
E1/2,
SN1/2 handout
Some light reading to
supplement/summarize lecture notes and help
